Integrating into the system

Let me tell you a story, the story of an Engineering student who fell in love with photography. Who started way early during his University days, established a brand in a divisional district, dragged back to Dhaka during the Covid-19 pandemic and with a deep desire to pursue photography, became a part of #TeamCheckmate family. Let me tell you the story of the “Versatile” Mubtasim Fuad.

We asked Fuad the first question, from a mechatronics engineer to a photographer. What’s the idea?

I didn’t even think about photography to be my profession, at first. It was like I used to spend a lot of time doing photography in my student life. It was a refresher for me amidst the complicated terms of engineering, thus somehow our paths crossed.

What’s the favorite genre you love to photograph and why do you prefer that?

I used to start doing street photography in my earlier days, still it is one of my favourite spots. There is no specific reason regarding liking the genre, but I like it. May be my soul searches for peace in the streets, I’ve plans to pursue it for a long time.

The influence of Street Photography is always there

Enjoyment, is the primary purpose I believe. Though a quiet person in nature, documenting a wedding event, in that case I feel quite comfortable blending in with the clients to bring out the pure feelings.

There is a special ❤️ for BnW Photographs which are close to my heart

When Engineering as a profession and photography as a passion crosses path, there starts a dilemma. We asked our shining knight, where he see’s himself in the coming years as a professional and a photographer?

Future is uncertain, can’t really tell anything during the Covid-19 pandemic times. Still I want me to continue photography as long as it fulfills my needs. To be financially independent and mentally satisfying is the work-life balance I’ll be heading to closer an inch everyday. It’s tough to maintain the balance but let’s see what life has to offer me.

Slotted onto a critical position at one of the top notch wedding documentation firms in Bangladesh, just before the winter season madness, we asked how was the experience.

It was a transitional period, there was been a few changes in the system to accommodate with the newer challenges, when me & Checkmate office authority addressed my enrolment to the system. Now here comes the part, as an Engineer I believe problem solving is an essential part to finesse a systematic approach. I was appointed to a few complex roles, the main challenge was to make the best use of time and bring out the output that was required. It was like yesterday, I joined the Checkmate office. I didn’t even notice that the winter 2020–21 season is over, the sheer rush for the past few months felt like a blink of an eye. It has been quite some memorable and happening days with my dearest colleagues, a memory to be cherished forever.

In search for the perfect moments, my take is wait for it, act vigilant, you’ll have it.

Dhaka is the captial, the scenario is not quite the same as your previous working experiences. As you’re appointed as a professional Wedding Photographer with Checkmate, what’s your take on the job?

Working with a renowned wedding firm, Checkmate Events, I have been getting so much to take in the sack of my experience. On the other hand, Checkmate Events has been so generous in case of any support needed.

There are times, I shoot abstract or still life while documenting a wedding, I believe it gives me an edge in my game.

You’ve been a practiced photographer for a couple of years. A few of the encouraging words for the young bees out there who are willing to pursue photography.

“You just need to love what you do”, that’s it. Whether it is photography or any other talents in any field of work, you need to be passionate about what you are doing. On the contrary, professional photography is about doing that loved job and as well as providing a service which needs to be pursued.

Some of my recent favourites, I try to blend the traditional & simple approach in Photography, that’s my catch.
